Ol’ Play will forever be a Laidback Classic. As we go forth and play with different fabrics and applications we tend to always go back to the classic and reinterpret it. Welcome to the Luxe edition, plenty more where this came from.

The big O has opened a boutique, none other than Oprah Winfrey has opened a freestanding store beside her studios. That would be the ultimate vendor experience. It is presently stocked with “Oprah’s Favorite” things and some products emblazoned with the O signature. Can we get some Laidback up in there?

Laidback has been chosen to participate in Brooklyn Designs this year. This year was uber competitive with Target as a sponsor and jury that also consisted of Domino and NY magazine editors. This year we are off to a big start with product concepts and ideas but are low on cash to finance all of the new opportunities. The Laidback chick is reaching out to you asking for your donations to prepare for this opportunity. I am trying to raise $1600 to defray the cost of the booth fee and set up costs to be a part of the show. The confirmation/booth fee is due this Friday, February 27.

Last week I had the pleasure of supporting my friend Anita, designer of the fashion line Sixxfoota, as she prepared to do Rip the Runway. Rip the Runway is a BET spectacular that takes place to show what’s hot on the streets in fashion. Along with Sixxfoota, was Zac Posen, Sean John, Apple Bottom (shout out to Nelly who also co-hosted the show, such a down to earth humble cat) and a host of others. Even if BET is not on your must see tv list, check it out at 8pm at March 4.
