Pantone Collabo

January 14th, 2009

As a textile and graphic designer my go to for color is my trusty Pantone book. So I am always excited to see the interesting design collaborations with Pantone. My latest discovery is the 5th Ave Gap Concept store Pop Up shop with Pantone. The featured color is Mimosa (14-0848) .

In Love with Craig Anthony Miller

January 13th, 2009

A few months ago I had the pleasure to attend the Wrap Party for Real World Brooklyn. While I had a great time looking at the set, one of the things that stuck out was the amazing artwork in the rec room and about. I later met the man behind the brush Craig Anthony Miller, a talented brother who is also responsible for the amazing mural at Pedros, a Mexican joint in Dumbo BK. I love his use of color and the quality of the lines in his images. His signature look definitely has an ethnic appeal to it, it is simply amazing. He has become a fast friend that I chat with on Facebook who I am looking forward to his move to NY so we can sit and chat and bug out (did I mention we cut the fool at the party with our friends that night). He is one to watch. The photos are from his Facebook page but check out his site for so much more http://www.craiganthonymiller.com/

This is a pict of Craig, myself and our friends at the Wrap Party, he is the comedic brother on the left.

Blogs show laidback love

January 13th, 2009

Big Thanks to Get’Em Girls for shouting out laidback on their blog earlier this week. I also had the pleasure of meeting Shakira, one of the founders last night at a NAMD event we both attended.

Thanks to Maxwell and the crew at Apartment Therapy who have supported me since the jump for their feature yesterday.

New on the scene which has become a daily read and a friend is Melinda of Get Togetha who reached out and did a great interview with the laidback chick last week.
I appreciate when bloggers show love and bring me to the masses, doesn’t get much better, (except when you buy, lol)

Party Recap

January 9th, 2009

Our Host, Patrick owner of Diamond Cut Barbershop (where they offer the flyest cuts and designs)

A great time was had by all especially the laidback chick at the watch party on Wednesday night. Thanks for all who came out to support and play find the pillow on the Real World on Wednesday. It was definitely a fun challenge since the show opener rarely showed them in any of the 3 rooms that laidback was in. So now I have to tune in weekly to spot them, lol. Erica Taylor, from Augusta, GA won a “She Rocks” pillow as she spotted one in the corner. A great time was had. You can check out more picts on flickr

Laidback on Real World Brooklyn Tonight

January 7th, 2009

Play Spot the pillow and kick back and revel in not so reality, reality tv tonight as we celebrate laidback’s tv debut. I am especially excited as I have visited the set, I love and rep Brooklyn all day everyday and most importantly I am all about celebrating the big and small this year. So if you are home tonight at 10 pm and have MTV get laidback and chill. Look for pictures and video clips tomorrow detailing my watch party and how I am getting laidback tonight.
