Hey guys I have been MIA for a minute plotting my laidback takeover and realized that I had yet to show you some of the stunning designs I saw during NY Design Week. I made my way around Brooklyn Designs to kick start it all ICFF, The Architects and Designers opening, Blu Dot X Apartment Therapy meetup and quite a few soirees all in the name of inspiring good design. Check out some of my favorites.
There were a ton of folks at the DOD event that were upset that they someone beat them to items in the spaces. This breakdown is for you as promised so you can locate the Brooklyn print and other designs that someone else beat you too.

Thursday nights Design On A Dime has come and gone, but not without me showing you what our vignette looked like with before and after shots. The event was a huge success with everyone from Real Housewives of NY to Ty Pennington, Simon Doonan and New York’s elite coming to share or shop the rooms.
We stayed true to the laidback steez and created a cool out minimal room that was full of graphics and color. The room was quite the understated hit with the low Bo Concept table, the fought after Brooklyn poster and the rocks pillows and Fatboy making everyone feel at home.
People hung out chatted it up in the space. A great time was had by all and money raised for an amazing cause. My son who was my handsome date even scored a Nickelodeon coffee table book. You can check out more pictures here.
Stay tuned for the breakdown and link to all of the designs used in the vignette in the next post.

Yesterday I had the opportunity to check out a live cooking show at the Rogersmith Hotel. Lily’s Live featured Chef Mowles a young guy with an ol heads knowledge of food and presentation. It was lot of fun, unfortunately I am not the meat eater so the foie gras and beef filet were lost on me.
However the brioche french toast with blackberry gastrique, truffle cauliflower gratin and safron rice pudding with vanilla were the bomb and I will be trying out those recipes. Rogersmith is known for its fun innovative, social media savvy culture, so whenever given the chance I try to get my chill on there. All of the recipes and the archive of the show can be seen here.
They are having their last show today so if you’re in the neighborhood check it out or watch the livestream at 12:30 for the lunch show or 6pm for dinner.
